Universal has let go this early look at the Peter Berg-directed film, Lone Survivor, which tells the story of Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell and his harrowing journey to kill a terrorist Taliban leader in 2005.
Based on the book "Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Acoount of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of Seal Team 10," Peter Berg's "passion project" was agreed upon Berg's directing of the Rihanna-led Battleship film. Funded by Emmett/Furla Films, the action-adventure flick focuses on an elite unit of Navy SEAL, led by Mark Wahlberg (2 Guns) as Luttrell, who encounter an army of Taliban forces in the Afghanistan mountains during a raid in 2005.
The clip shows Alexander Ludwig (VikingsThe Hunger Games) as a new SEAL getting hazed by his very close band of brothers. Next, they are then sent out on "Operation Red Wings," but instead of coming across a small array of enemy troops, they discover a full-fledged army. A local goat herder makes the misfortune of running into the SEAL team in the woods, which sparks an intriguing debate on the line between killing an innocence or protecting your troops. Ultimately, their decision leads to deadly consequences.

Shot in New Mexico back in October 2012, Peter Berg has been developing this picture for six years ago when Universal bought the book and life rights for $2 million against $3 million.
